John Ed Smith of Batesville, a volunteer for White River Medical Center (WRMC), was recently recognized in a statewide publication for his service at the hospital. In the winter edition of Arkansas Hospitals, which is published by the Arkansas Hospital Association, Smith was named a “Vital Volunteer.”
Smith, the magazine noted, “…attends to the needs of every person he encounters at WRMC, and though he has no professional medical training, he pays close attention to the needs of others and is quick to act when necessary.”
