Paul Albert has announced his intention to seek the office of Independence County Tax Collector as a Republican.

“After working in the Independence County tax office under Janet Perkey and Diana Thompson, I have developed a desire to fill this position,” Albert said in a statement. “I currently serve as deputy collector, and tending to the public in this capacity has brought me a lot of fulfillment. The experience I have received working in the office has prepared me to serve as your tax collector. My background in finances and manufacturing provides a solid foundation in serving the public.”

A longtime resident of Independence County and a graduate of Cord-Charlotte High School, Albert and his wife, Staci, have one daughter, Haley Albert-Tate.

“My family and community are two very important things to me,” said Albert. “Because of this, I know that I will serve the public well. Our office will be a professional and friendly one, working for you and not against, seeing that your experience is as productive as possible.”

Albert is currently unopposed.
