Two Stone County residents recently sentenced to prison for various charges

Two people were recently sentenced to prison time in Stone County Circuit Court.

Records show Leslea L. Harris, 31, was sentenced to five years in a district jail on three drug-related felonies including possession of drug paraphernalia, meth, and possession of a schedule six drug.

The sentence came from a negotiated plea of guilty.  Harris was also fined $2,500 plus $895 court costs. Once released from prison, Harris is to pay the fine and court costs at $100 a month.  She was given credit for 82 days spent in jail awaiting trial.

The other negotiated plea was on behalf of Shawn Anthony Skaggs, age 20.  He was sentenced to seven years in prison for first-degree false imprisonment, second-degree battery and aggravated assault on a family member. Skaggs was also fined $2,500 plus court costs and was given credit for 180 days spent in jail awaiting trial.
