A big event to benefit a cancer patient is scheduled for tonight in Timbo.

The Timbo Valley Assembly of God Church will be the site for the auction starting at 6 p.m. It will benefit cancer patient, Larry James Gammill.

One of the organizers of the event, Keri Foster, tells us more:

Larry James is the son and namesake of long-time Stone County Justice of the Peace Larry Gammill. Gammill is well known in the area from his construction business as well as from his time with a local gas company. He has given back to his community numerous times and now the community wants to assist him and his family as he battles his medical issue.

Attendees are invited to come and bid and to bring a baked good for auction. A drawing for the winner of a gun raffle will take place during Friday’s benefit as well.

Organizers say the event will include many door prizes.
