siren-6

An elderly Swifton, Ark., woman was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle accident on State Hwy. 63 in Hoxie.

Arkansas State Police Corporal John Qualls, in his preliminary report, said the victim, 85-year-old Louvella Duncan was driving her Chevy Colorado Westbound on U.S. 63-B when she pulled into the path of a Dodge Journey driven by 37-year-old April Moses of Jackson, Mississippi, and traveling North on U.S. 63.

Duncan died in the collision.  Moses was injured along with two passengers in her vehicle — 16-year-old Brandon Davis and 16-year-old Octavian Moses of Jackson, Miss.

Corporal Qualls said the roadway was dry and the weather clear at the time of the accident.

Duncan was the 101 person to die on Arkansas Highways this year.
