Convicted sex offender in Stone County charged for failing to report

A Stone County man has been charged with a felony for failing to report a change of address to a local law enforcement agency.

As a convicted sex offender, the change must be reported in person.

The prosecuting attorney says Mark Wayne Martin II, 22, was aware he had to immediately report any and all changes in his address because he previously signed a Sex Offender Acknowledgment Form.

The prosecutor said Martin II allegedly did not do that, and as a result, committed a Class C felony.

Martin II was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault in the second degree, and one count of sexual indecency with a child.

Martin II was convicted of those charges on April 26, 2018.  Part of his plea agreement was that he completes the Sex Offender Registration Form and that he keeps it up-to-date.
