The Stone County Sheriff’s Office has provided further information on the arrest of Phillip Callahan. Callahan eluded authorities over a few days last week. (For more info, on the history of the case, click here.)

After Stone County Sheriff Lance Bonds developed leads that Callahan was in the Beebe area, the sheriff contacted the Beebe Police Department and coordinated a plan to arrest Callahan. At approximately 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 18, Callahan was apprehended at the Walmart in Beebe, according to authorities.

The Beebe Police Department assisted in his capture, and Callahan was taken into custody without incident. Callahan was also found in possession of an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine and a smoking device used to smoke the drug, reported officials.

Callahan was then transported to the Stone County Jail. He is expected to be charged in connection with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, at a later date by Beebe Police.
