Arkansas’ first lady, Susan Hutchinson, was in Batesville Thursday, June 7, assisting in the formation of a Children’s Advocacy Center. She is working with Batesville’s Dianne Lamberth and others to form the center.
First Lady Hutchinson said a survey showed that D-H-S, the sheriff’s office, and other organizations dealing with sexual abuse of children agree that a referral system for needed services would be good to provide.
Gary B. visits with Arkansas First Lady Susan Hutchinson during a recent visit to the White River Now studios.
Ms. Hutchinson said the referral organization is for sexually abused children ages 3 to 17, and most of the time, assaults on children are by someone the victim knows.
