Walnut Grove man facing citations after fleeing from sheriff’s deputy

siren-16

A Walnut Grove Road man will be in district court on August 1 explaining to Judge Chaney Taylor why he fled from Independence County Sheriff’s Deputy John Marlow on July 5.

Marlow said he was patrolling on Gainesboro Road in Independence County and saw a white Chevrolet Equinox traveling at a high rate of speed on the county road.

In his report, Marlow noted the vehicle fled when he activated his emergency lights and siren. Marlow said the vehicle continued to travel at a high rate of speed, crossing the center line several times before pulling into a driveway in the 500 block of Cason Lane.

Marlow’s arrest information said the driver was identified as 25-year-old William Ty Hunter who said he fled because he had multiple warrants.

Marlow noted that Hunter was very compliant and respectful during the incident.

Marlow said Hunter was transported to the Independence County Jail where he was cited for fleeing in a vehicle, driving on a suspended driver’s license, and reckless driving.
