Batesville Parks and Rec holds inaugural indoor triathlon

Close to 40 participants took part in the inaugural “Swim Bike Run” indoor triathlon at the Batesville Community Center, Saturday, Sept. 22. The triathlon consisted of a 200-yard swim, 6-mile bike, and 1.5-mile running portion. The City of Batesville Parks and Recreation Department noted another 80 volunteers and spectators helped with the event.

Triathletes from as far as Little Rock competed in the triathlon while over 15 participants would call it their very first triathlon, reps from the department noted.

Awards were given to the top two male and female participants in each of the following age groups 14&U, 15-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55+. Along with top three male and top three female overall (listed below).
