October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), an annual international campaign to help raise awareness of the disease and funds for further research in finding a potential cure.

In honor of BCAM and to offer support for those with the disease, Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens (below left) and Chief Deputy Aaron Moody will be wearing pink — the international color for BCAM — for the month of October.
