Officer finds wanted man in the middle of the road

newsbackground-1-62

Early Sunday morning (Sept. 30), Officer John M. Marlow of the Independence County Sheriff’s Department came upon a Chevrolet Suburban displaying a handicap tag and sitting in the roadway of Forest Lane. After a check, Marlow noted the tag that belonged to another vehicle.

Upon approaching the vehicle, Marlow said he found a male subject who initially identified himself with a false name, according to the report.

The man was detained while Marlow conducted a search of the vehicle which turned up a glass smoking device as well as an electric bill in the name of Andrew Logan. It was at that time the man admitted his true identity: 40-year-old Andrew Allen Logan.

Why was he lying about his identity? A computer check found Logan had active warrants from Sharp and Independence counties. Logan was placed under arrest for having fictitious tags on his vehicle, possession of an instrument of crime and obstructing a governmental operation.
