A Stone County man has been charged with seven counts of first-degree stalking after violating a no contact order.

Stone County Deputy Tony Trammell was dispatched on Sept. 23 to the 3000 block of Martin Drive on a domestic call. He took into custody 39-year-old Ricky Edward Hicks.

Hicks was charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member and domestic violence committed in the presence of a child. He is to also be prosecuted under the Habitual Offender Law.

While in jail, Hicks called the victim of the assault seven times and tried to make contact by phone another six times, but his call was blocked by the jail staff, according to authorities.

Hicks is now charged with seven counts of first-degree stalking, a Class C felony. His bond is set at $20,000.
