Christmas favorites with a big band twist will be performed Sunday, Dec. 2, when the band Jubilation Jazz comes to Lyon College’s Sloan Auditorium of the Brown Chapel Fine Arts Building in Batesville. The concert begins at 3 p.m.
The members of Jubilation Jazz are all accomplished musicians, according to a release announcing the concert, consisting of band directors, retired band directors, retired military musicians, and other professional musicians.
Since the inception of Jubilation Jazz in 1997, the band has performed in a wide variety of settings in many states and countries — including outdoor festivals, concert halls, churches, national conferences, and theme parks. The band has also traveled on mission trips to Brazil, Jordan, Mexico and aboard The Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and performed at The Grand Ole Opry, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, Branson and Silver Dollar City.
