Independence County authorities say a Tuckerman man stole a truck in the county on Dec. 23 and drove to Conway, where he was then caught by Conway police. The subject, Anthony Frank Parks, 41, was jailed in the Faulkner County Detention Center. (He has since been released, according to their website.)

When the truck’s owner retrieved their vehicle, they found property in the truck that did not belong to them. The property consisted of miscellaneous clothing, insurance cards, social security cards, various debit and credit cards, and Arkansas identification cards. A cardholder of one of the Arkansas identification cards was located on Dec. 27. That cardholder reported that their vehicle was broken into at the Cash Saver store parking lot in Batesville on Dec 23.

The court information said someone, later identified by store videos as Parks, tried, without success, to use stolen debit and credit cards at several locations in Batesville.

Parks has been charged in Independence County Circuit Court with felony theft of a vehicle, two counts of breaking or entering a vehicle, two counts of theft of a credit card, and two counts of theft of a debit card.

Parks will also be facing charges in Faulkner and Jackson counties, according to Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens.

His bond has been set at $100,000.
