Elia Alvarado and Jesus Hernandez of Batesville and their family were excited to ring in the New Year by welcoming their son, Adan Hernandez to the world.  Adan was the first baby born at White River Medical Center (WRMC) in 2019.

Dr. Meriden Glasgow delivered him Jan. 1 at 8:36 a.m. Baby Adan weighed 7 pounds and 13 ounces.

“Adan’s due date was Dec. 31,” said Elia.  “It was a very unexpected and exciting surprise to find out we would have the first baby of the New Year.”

Adan has two older brothers and three older sisters: Jose, Diego, Analy, Marcella, and Evelyn.  Elia expressed that all were so ready for him to arrive.  They cannot wait for him to come home to meet them.

Grandma was probably most excited. She traveled from Mexico to meet baby Adan.  “I have 23 grandsons and none have been born on a special occasion such as this,” she said.  She was excited that Adan waited on her to get here before making his arrival.

Both mom and son are doing well, and the family is ready for them to be home enjoying the new year together.
