The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT) says a section of State Highway 69 in north Batesville is now closed during current repair work.

This section of highway is under width restrictions requiring trucks to use a designated detour route at all times. This impacts roadway from the Independence County Fairgrounds eastward to the intersection of U.S. Highway 167.

The section will be closed between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until the repair work is completed. ArDOT says these closures will be in place while crews repair drainage structures underneath the highway. The work is anticipated to require four to six weeks.

Traffic on State Highway 69B will need to travel State Highway 69S to U.S. Highway 167 to the intersection of U.S. Highway 167 and State Highway 69.

Traffic will be controlled with signage and traffic barrels. Drivers should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.

Additional travel information can be found at idrivearkansas.com or ardot.gov.
