Around 1:15 p.m. on Jan. 21, Jonesboro police were dispatched to the McDonald’s on Johnson Avenue in regards to an armed robbery. The juvenile victim stated to police that he had listed an iPhone for sale online and was contacted by a potential buyer, who wanted to meet at the Johnson Avenue location.

Two juvenile subjects approached the victim inside McDonald’s and asked for him to step outside to make the transaction. Once outside, one suspect pulled a gun from his waistline and demanded the victim to hand over the phone. The two juvenile suspects then fled north on foot.

After an on-scene investigation, police apprehended the two juveniles and placed them into custody pending formal charges.

The Jonesboro Police Department encourages the use of “Swap Spots.” These are designated public places where residents may exchange items that they have purchased or sold online. There are four locations in Jonesboro. You can find a complete list on the Jonesboro Police website by clicking here.
