Humane Society of Independence County: Keep pets warm during cold temps

humane-society

White River Now’s Gary B. recently visited with Kristy Harrison of the Humane Society of Independence County. Harrison said the shelter now has 54 dogs and about half that many cats. She said it is really a nice selection and would be a good time to pick a dog or cat for adoption.

Harrison noted the cold weather is really hard on animals, so be sure your dog or cat or other animal has a good shelter at night, away from the wind, and plenty to eat and drink.

She also said that February is a good month to make a donation to the shelter in the name of a loved one.

The Humane Society can always use volunteers. There is a job for everyone such as operating the Bargain Hound Boutique on Ramsey Street in Batesville. For more information, visit the Humane Society of Independence County’s Facebook page by clicking here.
