Head-on collision leaves juvenile dead, two adults seriously injured in Izard County

A head-on collision near Wiseman in Izard County on Jan. 30 left a juvenile dead and two adults seriously injured.

Cheryl Clements, 60, of Horseshoe Bend, was driving her 2012 Ford F-150 south on Johnson View Road while Rodney D. Kemp, 44, of Salem, was traveling north on Johnson View in a 1991 Ford F-150 when the collision occurred, according to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Evan Jones investigated the scene.

Jones said Clements was airlifted to UAMS in Little Rock, and Kemp was airlifted to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock.

A juvenile passenger in Kemp’s vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Izard County Coroner.

Izard County Sheriff Ernie Blackley said the accident is still under investigation.
