Authorities say an Independence County man committed two burglaries in which he stole valuable items at residences on Earls Lane. Court records say the man charged is 18-year-old Levi Clinton Horne. The Independence County Sheriff’s Department says Horne has been arrested in the alleged burglaries and has posted bond for his release.

The arresting officers say Horne broke into the residences of Lorelei and Jeff Everetts and Joan Sellers on Earls Lane in December of last year. Horne is accused of stealing a pistol, cash, electronics, clothing, and numerous items of jewelry from the Everetts home, and a diamond ring and a ruby ring from the Joan Sellers residence.

The court record says the value of the stolen items is more than $5,000 but less than $25,000 at both residences.

The court documents say Horne posted a bond of $8,000 and was released from jail until his next date in Independence County Circuit Court.
