One dead in a single-vehicle crash in Stone County Thursday afternoon

A well-known, Stone County man died in a single-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon.

State Police Trooper Jason W. Long stated in his preliminary report, the deceased, Michael Kenny Phillips, 55, of Shirley, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet southbound on State Highway 263 near the Baxter County Line when it went off the roadway to the left and struck a tree.  

It was raining heavily at the time of the accident.

Kenny’s sister owns and operates Prissy’s Florist in Mountain View.
