The Independence County Quorum Court faces a rather busy agenda when it meets on Monday, May 6 — a week earlier than usual.

The court members will vote on four ordinances, two resolutions, and one re-appointment. The court will be asked to re-appoint Tommy Bryant to the Independence County Equalization Board.

In addition to the usual reports received from elected officials and department heads, the court will also recognize Batesville High School head girls basketball coach Stan Fowler and the Lady Pioneers basketball team which recently won the 4A State Championship.

One resolution on the agenda concerns flooding in the Highway 37 area of the county.

The Independence County Quorum Court will meet Monday at 6 p.m. in the Jess B. Carpenter building in downtown Batesville.
