While deputies from the Independence County Sheriff’s Department were investigating a domestic disturbance last week, they also discovered several hundred dollars worth of items stolen from a June 2018 burglary.

Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens says his officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance in the Bethesda area Friday evening, May 31. When patrolmen then went to an address on Westwood Drive, the male suspect involved in the case had left the residence.

During the course of the investigation, the sheriff said officers discovered several items that had been stolen in a June 2018 burglary. The recovered stolen property, some of which is pictured, included 21 guns, four chainsaws, a compressor, two bows, some jewelry, and a laptop.

Officers are now looking for a 26-year-old male suspect. The case is still under investigation, according to Stephens.
