Sherrif’s Department: Cocaine found in truck stopped on traffic violation

A vehicle stopped late Wednesday night in Independence County on a traffic violation turned into a search of the truck after Deputy Johnny Byler noticed a strong smell of marijuana.

During a search of the vehicle, Byler found amounts of cocaine and marijuana, according to the incident report. As Byler arrived at the Independence County Detention Facility, the suspect, Tadrick Jones, 24, of Cave City, confessed that he had another baggie of cocaine in his left foot sock.

Byler placed Jones in jail under the charges of felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
