news-siren-22

On Friday, July 26, Dillon Sallas, narcotics investigator with the Batesville Police Department, went to a local motel with information of a possible female absconder staying in one of the rooms.

The woman, identified as Brandy Michelle Dennis, 33, of Calico Rock, was listed as an absconder through the Arkansas Crime Information Center, according to the affidavit of probable cause for arrest.

Upon arrival at the Ramada Inn on St. Louis St., Sallas found Dennis in a room along with two plastic baggies of a “white crystalline substance” that later tested positive for two grams of methamphetamine and a glass smoking device, according to the affidavit.

In his report, Sallas said he was assisted by BPD patrol officer Amber Branscum, investigator Jason Bryant, and Blake Cruz, a special agent with the 16th Judicial District’s Drug Task Force.

Dennis faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance — namely meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dennis was booked into the Independence County Detention Facility and placed on a $25,000 bond.
