Batesville Pioneers gain the ‘W’ against the Paragould Rams Friday night, 34-21

The Batesville Pioneers improved to 2-0 in 5A East play with their 34-21 victory over the Paragould Rams.
Paragould scored the first 13 points of the game before the Pioneers responded with 34 unanswered points.
The Pioneers got their first score on a 59-yard touchdown run by Ethan Ridgel.
The second Pioneer score came on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Eli Livingston to John Todd Stalker.
Esler Ordonez, kicking for the injured Alejandro Medina, hit the extra point and the game was tied at 13.
The Pioneers’ next score came on a 99-yard touchdown pass from Livingston to Karson Douglas just before halftime.
The Pioneers got the ball to start the second half and scored on a 4-yard ridge run.
The final Pioneer score of the night came on a Livingston 2-yard run.
Paragould would score in the final quarter to cut the score to 34-21, but could not get any closer.
The Pioneers are 2-3 overall and travel to Forrest City for a 5A East conference game next Friday.
