The L-U ARK 4H club will be hosting “Haunted History” tours of Batesville’s Main Street Oct. 18, 19, 29, 30, and 31 at 8 p.m. Proceeds will benefit L-U ARK 4H activities and Main Street Batesville.

According to a press release, attendees will “…come walk on the dark side of Historic Batesville’s Main Street — the oldest Main Street in Arkansas! Discover the legends, lore, and ghosts that call Main Street home. Escape to the past as our club members guide you on an eerie, yet fun-filled adventure. Hear frightening tales of ghostly manifestations, betrayal, and death. Hear about the gallows, the poor girl found in the stairwell, and what makes the dragging sounds upstairs! Step back in time as you learn about those in the Pioneer Cemetery and under College Street. Learn how to use real ghost-hunting equipment like K2 meters, dowsing rods, and a spirit box as you attempt to collect evidence from outside the different locations. Don’t forget your camera you might catch a picture of the Lady in Yellow.

This is a walking tour over uneven ground in dark areas, and there are stairs and inclines. The tour is outside, so participants should dress accordingly. The content of the tour might scare young children, so parental discretion advised.

Tickets are $20 and can be bought on Eventbrite by clicking here or in person at the tour.

The tour will meet at the Coca Cola mural by Big’s on Main Street. The tour leaves promptly at 8 each night.
