A traffic stop on a vehicle that had a wanted subject inside, yielded not only that subject, but also hideaway emergency blue lights installed in the vehicle.

Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens said he believes the blue lights are the ones stolen from a patrol unit in Sulphur Rock. He said to his knowledge, the blue lights were not used to stop someone. He did say it appears they were used to make “pursuit” videos by the subjects charged in the case.

As a result of the traffic stop and previous intelligence, the sheriff’s department, along with the Batesville Police Department, and the 16th Judicial District Drug Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence on Kari Road.

During the execution, a half-ounce of methamphetamine, a half-ounce of marijuana, several plastic baggies, a scanner, video surveillance equipment, firearms, and stolen road signs were all confiscated.

Sheriff Stephens said two men, Jamie Kyle Medley (pictured above, left), 21, and Timothy Clint Martin (right), 30 were taken into custody, and are now facing charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, maintaining a drug premise, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of lights for an emergency vehicle, and possession of a communication device.

Both Medley and Martin are in the Independence County Detention Facility waiting to make pleas before a Circuit Judge.
