Area man sentenced to 76 years for sex crimes

Michael B. Osburn (pictured), 31, entered a negotiated plea of guilty this week in Stone County Circuit Court to 35 counts of possessing, distributing, and viewing matter depicting child sex. Osburn also pled guilty to failing to register as a sex offender, and failure, as a convicted sex offender, to report a change of address.

Osburn was arrested in Independence County in early April of this year after Stone County authorities issued an arrest warrant. (Click here for that story.)

In addition, he negotiated a guilty plea to three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

Osburn was sentenced to 912 months (or 76 years) in prison, and fined $2,500 — plus court costs of $1,470 dollars for a total of $3,970.
