To honor Veterans Day, the Independence County Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution packed gift bags for all the veterans residing in the Community Compassion Center on White Drive and in Eagle Mountain Assisted Living, both in Batesville.
Members met at the First Community Bank Rider Room to pack the bags. They were assisted by several community members including Charles Jordan, a veteran of the Vietnam War, and his father, Merlas Moody, a World War II veteran. Other friends and family members also helped deliver the bags.
