Obituary: Bradie C. Money

Bradie C. Money of Newark, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at the age of 98. He was born Sept. 30, 1921, in Newark, the son of William and Betty J. (Woodruff) Money. On Feb. 26, 1949, Mr. Bradie Money married Ruth Qualls, and together they spent 70 years.

Money was a graduate of Newark High School, and a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II. He retired from Revere Copper and Brass after 30 years of service and was a member of the Newark First Baptist Church.

Money enjoyed raising cattle, woodworking, and gardening. He was known to make two big gardens each year.

Money enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s ballgames. Most importantly he loved his wife, Ruth, always putting her first.

Money was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Kay Parsley; one brother, Ross Money; and his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth J. (Qualls) Money of the home; one daughter, Linda Carol Parr, and husband, Ted, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; his son-in-law, Loren Parsley of Batesville; three grandchildren, Bradley Parr of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Bridget Parsley-Huff and husband, Shannon, of Newark, and Shari Carver of Spartanburg, South Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Brandon Parr, Gracie Huff, and Dakota Carver; special nieces, Wanda Wilson and Pam Sharp; several nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.

Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at Newark First Baptist Church, with service following at 2:00 p.m. Interment, will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Johnny Wherry, Dennis Jarrett, David Money, Rickie Sharp, Heath Wilson, and David McClain. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Gipson, Jerry McClain, Loren Parsley, Ted Parr, Jimmy Murphree, and Robbie Brown.
