The White River bridge in Calico Rock will be dedicated tomorrow to honor the memory of Sgt. Mike Stephen of the Stone County Sheriff’s Office.

Stephen, a 20-year law enforcement veteran, was killed July 18 when he responded to a domestic incident in southwest Stone County. Stephen had also previously worked for the Izard County Sheriff’s Department and was a law enforcement officer on an Oklahoma Indian reservation.  Stephen was an Army veteran as well.

The ceremony will be held beside the Calico Rock Museum on Railroad Street beginning at 3:30 p.m. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be conducted in the Murphy Gallery of the museum.
