Mountain View Yellowjackets take on the Rose Bud Ramblers Tuesday night

The Mountain View Yellowjackets picked up their third conference victory of the season with a 47-43 victory over the Rose Bud Ramblers on Tuesday night at Rose Bud High School. 

The Yellowjackets led 25-14 at halftime, but Rose Bud rallied to tie the game 43-43 with under a minute to go in the game. 

Mountain View would retake the lead as Junior Bryce Baird would score in the lane with :17 seconds left to give the Yellowjackets a 45-43 lead. 

After a miss by the Ramblers, and a missed free throw by Mountain View, Yellowjackets guard J’Air Jackson would steal the inbounds pass and hit the layup at the buzzer to secure the victory. 

Jackson led the Yellowjackets offense with 15 points, Brayden Scribner added 12 points, 7 rebounds, Kaedn Henderson put in 11 points including three, three-pointers, and Baird added 7 points, as the Yellowjackets improved to 3-2 in conference play and 9-8 overall.

In the first game on the night the Rose Bud Lady Ramblers upset the Mountain View Lady Yellowjackets by a score of 54-51. 

Lady Ramblers jumped out to an early 13-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead to 15 in the second quarter. 

Mountain View would claw their way back outscoring Rose Bud 18-8 in the third quarter and eventually closed the gap to one but could not take the lead as Rose Bud would hold on 54-51 over the Lady Yellowjackets. 

Sophomore Josie Storey had 15 points for Mountain View, Chaelann Vickers added 12 points, Emry Johnson assessed nine points and six rebounds as the Lady Yellowjackets fall to 14-2 overall on the season and 4-1 in conference play. 

Rose Bud was led by Kyndal Rooks who had 23 points and Hope Hartle who had 22 points, as they improved to 5-2 in conference play and 12-5 overall.
