An arrest warrant has been issued for a Sharp County man in relation to a theft at Southern Traditions Antique Store on Batesville Boulevard in Independence County.

According to Independence County Circuit Court records, Riley Don Proctor, 21, of Cave City, was seen on store video earlier this month entering a display case multiple times and taking jewelry.

The court documents said that during an interview with Independence County detectives, Proctor admitted to selling the jewelry he had taken, saying he sold it to two different stores — one in Cave City and the other in Southside. The docs say he received $40 from each business.

According to the court records, Proctor had apparently been in the antique store days before the jewelry was stolen and was seen on the store video removing screws that held hinges in place on the back of the display case. This allowed him to enter the jewelry display from the rear, authorities say.

Proctor has been charged with felony theft of property. His bond was set at $1,000.
