Batesville Pioneers end their season Monday night in the 4A-3 Conference Tournament

The Batesville Pioneers 2019-2020 basketball season ended in the 4A-3 Conference tournament at Southside on Monday night.

The lead changed hands four times and was tied twice throughout the game.

At the intermission, the Pioneers had the lead 25-22 and then Batesville had a 12 point lead with a little more than four minutes left in the game.

Highland then capitalized on several turnovers with three, three-pointers down the stretch along with going four of seven from the charity stripe and held on to win by a final of 53-51.

Batesville was led by Senior Caleb Anderson with 14 points and Junior J.P. Morgan who had 13.

Highland had three players in double digits led by Junior Camden Rhodes with 23.

Senior Joel Hoppe chipped in 12 and Sophomore Nate Kulcycki added 10.

The Highland Rebels will move on to play Brookland on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m.

Batesville ends the season with one of their best records in several seasons at 16-11.
