Obituary: Leonard E. Lindsey

Leonard E. Lindsey, 82, of Batesville passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020.

He was born on June 12, 1937 in Hillman, Arkansas to Ed Lindsey and Irene (McClelland) Lindsey.

Leonard was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and was a song leader and Sunday School teacher at Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was a compassionate man who loved his family.

He was a Brick Layer for 25 years and also worked maintenance at Cedar Ridge School. He loved to play the guitar, hunting and fishing, and woodworking and enjoyed making furniture for his family, and helping his son, Ronny on the farm.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mildred (Cruthis) Lindsey; son, Ronny and Rhonda Lindsey of Cord; daughter, Janice and Ricky Floyd of Russellville; five grandchildren, Courtney and Aaron Turner of Cord, Cassie and T.J. Burk of Jessieville, Savannah Floyd of Russellville, Jared and Katie Floyd of Russellville, Bailey and Treyton Anderson of Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Ryley Turner and Adysen Turner both of Cord and Kaylin Burk of Jessieville; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lorretta Wright.

Pallbearers are Guy Santucci, Chuck Dallas, Charles Dallas, Charles Gabe, Danny Davis, and Jack Rainwater. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lynn under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Bro. Jerry Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Dowdy.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday just prior to service at the church.
