Multiple law enforcement agencies involved in the recovery of a stolen trailer

Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens said a goose-neck trailer, stolen in the county was found in Stone County.

Stephens said the $5,000 trailer had a flatbed and dual axles and that the trailer’s ramps were made to slide underneath the trailer for storage.

Sheriff Stephens said a suspect in the theft is a man who was allowed to cut wood on a farm in the Bethesda area where the trailer was kept.

Stephens said the theft may have also been connected to some other illegal activity in Izard County.

The incidents are still under investigation, and charges could be filed in one of the other counties, or both.
