Obituary: James (Jim) L. Kistner Sr.

James (Jim) L. Kistner Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was born on Dec. 4, 1930, in McPherson, Kansas to Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. and Violet Fern Kistner (Sr.).

He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses and was known to many who discussed Bible topics with him.  He helped establish Bio-Zyme and sell its products in the 1960’s/1970’s.  He is also known to many as “Jim” from Jim’s Business Machines that served North Arkansas for 25 years repairing, servicing and selling office machines and supporting products until he retired in 1995.

In his retirement, he studied Law and offered Kistner Paralegal Services.  His main hobbies were Amateur “HAM” Radio as W5RBG, gardening, cooking chili, baking bread, making jewelry, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 66 years and the mother of his children, Viola A. Kistner and his brother, Harold E. Kistner Jr.

He is survived by his wife Juliet Perez Kistner of the Philippines; his children, James L. Kistner Jr., Robin V. Kistner, Ronald S. Kistner, Kathy J. Fitzsimmons, Roy E. Kistner, and Dianne M. Rogers, along with 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
