Izard County Sheriff Jack Yancey said his deputies caught a man in possession of methamphetamine while, in another incident, a suspect drove through a fence and left the scene.
Yancey said Deputy Jason Jordan made a May 2 traffic stop on Highway 56 and 5 in Calico Rock. The vehicle was driven by Justin Osterkamp (pictured), 35, of Viola. Deputy Jordan found that Osterkamp was hiding meth on his person, according to a release from Yancey’s office. Osterkamp was also driving on a suspended driver’s license. He goes to Izard County Circuit Court June 17.
In another May 2 incident, Deputy Tyler Webb investigated where a vehicle left the roadway and ripped through a fence line, and then left the scene. According to the release from Sheriff Yancey’s office, Webb’s investigation led him to Benjamin Lindsey, 59, of Elizabeth. Lindsey was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident. Lindsey is to appear in Izard County District Court July 9.
And a Calico Rock man, identified as Kaiden Withrow, 18, was arrested by Deputy Austin Grayham on a warrant charging Withrow with harassing communications and terroristic threatening. Withrow is also scheduled to appear in district court on July 9, according to the release.
