Southside Schools Superintendent Roger Rich told White River Now that he and his staff have been working for some time on preschool and child care services — services the school district has provided in the past throughout the summer months. But, during pandemic times, many more issues have to be addressed.

After finalizing plans with the state Department of Health and Department of Education, Rich said the district is ready to move forward.

“We will be opening up again on Tuesday, May 26 — which is the Tuesday after Memorial Day,” Rich said.

Those interested can call the school district office at (870) 251-2341 or Southside Preschool Director Lisa McGhee at (870) 251-2297. McGhee can also be reached by email at Lisa.McGhee@southsideschools.org.

“Any of those three ways will get you on our list,” said Rich. “Just let us know what age your child is, what services you might need, and we’ll be glad to visit with you and do what we can to continue to serve your children.”
