The Cave City School District has been approved to conduct a non-traditional graduation for the Senior Class of 2020, according to Superintendent Steve Green.

A “Caravan Graduation” will be held at the campus on Saturday, May 23, beginning at noon.

Each student has been assigned a time to arrive for their individual ceremony. The stage will be set up in front of the high school, probably under the porch, due to the weather forecast, according to Green. It will be broadcast live on Caveman Radio 89.9.

Students will be limited to five vehicles in their caravan. Only six members of their caravan will be allowed out of the vehicle. And those arriving on campus will have their temperature taken while those who exit the vehicle will also be screened.

Green said the school will film and edit the event to later share with everyone.

The district is also planning a second event, Friday, July 24, in hopes that restrictions are lifted so students can gather together.
