Obituary: Tamara Griffin

Dr. Tamara Griffin, 58, of Batesville, died Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at her home.

She was born Sept. 22, 1961, in Norman, Okla. to Gary and Judy Byrd. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Masters Degree from Arkansas State University and a Doctorate of Administration from Colorado Tech. She was Division Chair of Business Technology and Public Service at UACCB. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Batesville.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Danny Griffin of the home; one son, Daniel Griffin (Thais Fournier) of Batesville; one daughter, Magen Slaughter (B.J.) of Batesville; her parents, Gary and Judy Byrd of Cambria, Cal.; two brothers, Gary John Bird (Erika) of Santa Cruz, Cal. and Dylan Byrd (Kate) of San Jose, Cal.; one sister, Kimmy Byrd Rider of Santa Cruz, Cal.; one grandson, Nash Griffin Slaughter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be Monday, June 8, 2020, at 2 p.m. the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Brent Swanson officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Griffin, B.J. Slaughter, Gary John Byrd,  Landon Reeves, Mason Reeves and Chris Mace.

Honorary pallbearers are Scott Brown and Doug Waugh.
