Obituary: Starbrina Queena Norman

Starbrina Queena Norman, 31, of Hampton, GA departed this life on Monday, June 29, 2020. She was born on August 4, 1988, in Newport to Darwin Norman and Nova Ruth Cox. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church throughout her childhood. Starbrina (frequently called Star, Muffin, Brina, or Breeze) graduated with Honors from Newport High School in 2006. She then went on to major in Psychology at the University of Central Arkansas where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in 2009. She received her Master of Arts in Community Health Services & Counseling from Argosy University in 2012.

Starbrina was a jack of all trades and was a very hard worker no matter the job. She worked in various industries over the years, including finance, real estate, transportation, and mental health services.

She loved spending time with her daughter, family, and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to various beaches. She loved seafood, cooking, binging her favorite television shows, and completing many DIY projects.

Starbrina passed at her home in Hampton, Georgia. She is preceded in death by her birth parents, Darwin and Nova; grandmother, Evelyn Sue Cox; grandfather, Willie Cox; aunts, Evelyn Sue Cox, Margie Hannah, Wanda Pompey, and Jenetha Lewis; uncles, James Cox, Michael Norman, and Scotty Norman.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Diamond Wallace of Hampton, GA; loving parents, Charles and Sylvialene Pruitt of Newport, AR;

brothers, Jeremy Cox of Fairburn, GA, Daevon Pruitt, Oshae Pruitt, and Julius Pruitt, all of Newport; sister, Latoya Corley of Jonesboro; grandmother, Bernice Redus of Augusta; uncles, Willie Cox (Michelle) of Fairburn, GA, Henry Cox of Newport, David Norman, Sr., of Augusta, and Paul Parker (Angela) of Jacksonville; aunt, Bridgett Lee (Joe) of Bald Knob; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.

Starbrina also leaves to cherish her memory her best friends of DPC, Brandy Thomas (Vinson) of Conway, Jasmine Mansko of Bryant, Kendra Pruitt of Little Rock, Sasha Williams (Darius) of Cumming, GA, and a special friend and “Dad” to Diamond, John Young, Jr. of Hampton, GA.

Visitation will be at Dillinger Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m.
