Obituary: Lonnie H. Due

Lonnie H. Due of Tuckerman departed this life on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the age of 85. He was born March 5, 1935, in Tupelo the son of Gentry and Evelyn Mae (Davis) Due.

He married Namie Yamazaki on March 22, 1957, and together they spent 48 years.

He retired from General Motors, where he had worked on the assembly line. He was a United States Army veteran, serving as a Military Police Officer. He enjoyed attending auctions and working on lawnmowers.

Due was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Namie; one son, Rick Due; one daughter, Darlene Due; three brothers, Leon, Leroy, and Bobby Due; and two sisters, Carolyn Vanravensway and Thelma Haley.

He is survived by one brother, Kenneth Wayne Due and wife, Betty L. of Newport; a sister-in-law, Betty Ann Due of Searcy; several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends may visit at the funeral home, Monday, July 27, 2020, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sandhill Cemetery.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jeff Runyon, John Runyon, Billy Rouse, and Michael Ray Due. Honorary pallbearers are Willard Campbell, Theo Kempter, Robert Due, Michael Due, and Claudie Davis.
