Jonesboro Police: Brickhouse shooting suspect arrested in Batesville

The suspect in a Sunday morning shooting incident at a popular Jonesboro restaurant was arrested in Batesville Monday night, according to the Jonesboro Police Department (JPD).

Zachary Williamson, 21, of Jonesboro, was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. by the United States Marshals Service East Arkansas Fugitive Task Force with assistance of officers from the JPD, the Independence County Sheriff’s Department, and the Batesville Police Department, according to a statement from the JPD.

According to the JPD, officers responded to shots being fired outside the Brickhouse Grill on Main Street in downtown Jonesboro around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, authorities found the victim, who had been struck by a bullet in the right hip. The victim was treated on the scene and then transported to a local hospital.

Williamson is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on charges of first-degree battery and parole violations.
