Southside Southerners bounce back Senior Night, defeating the Clinton Yellowjackets, 38-21

The Southside Southerners bounced back from two straight losses to beat Clinton 38-21 at Stewart Field on Senior Night.

The game opened with a Clinton touchdown just a little over two minutes into the first quarter with an 11-yard touchdown run, putting Clinton up 7-0.

The Southerners answered quickly with one of Bryson Duncan’s four touchdowns to tie the game at seven.

Clinton executed a fullback pass perfectly for a 50-yard touchdown strike to go up 14-7.

The Southerners would score the next 24 points to lead 31-14 at the half. Three touchdowns by Duncan and safety from the defense.

Bryson Sutton added a touchdown in the fourth quarter ended the scoring for the Southerners as they moved to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

The Southerners travel to Lonoke to take on the Jackrabbits next Friday.
