Obituary: Charles Alvin Foushee

Charles Alvin Foushee, 85, of Desha died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020.

He was born Nov. 6, 1934, in Locust Grove, Arkansas to Fount Louis Foushee and Ola (Bullard) Foushee.

He once served as chief of the Desha Volunteer Fire Department where he was an active member for many years. He loved the fire department, farming, fishing, hunting, and his family.

He is survived by one daughter, Anita Barham of Desha, Arkansas; one brother, Fount Foushee Jr. of Raymore, Missouri; five sisters, Ollie Ellison of Batesville, Bernice Davis of Batesville, Ivone Thorne of Batesville, Margie Pool of Batesville, Dorothy Mills of Santa Barbara, California; and one grandchild, Teah Barham.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Winona Foushee; and one brother, Johnny Foushee.

Pallbearers are the Desha Volunteer Fire Department. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Foushee, Robert Foushee, Bob Stroud and Gordon Harmon.

Graveside Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Egner Cemetery with Rev. Leslie Bethell Roper officiating.

Visitation were held Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
