An investigation into a domestic violence call last week in Izard County led to criminal charges being filed against a Kensett, Mo. man and a Melbourne, Ark. woman.

Izard County Chief Sheriff’s Deputy Charley Melton said authorities learned the Missouri man, identified as Joshua Elliott (pictured above, left), 27, had been aggressive toward another man at a residence on Highway 9, south of Melbourne.

Through the investigation, deputies found Elliott and the Melbourne woman, identified as Sabryna Irby (right), 25, had allegedly burglarized another residence in the area and took some property, according to a release from the sheriff’s department. While at the Melbourne residence with Irby and Elliott, authorities found a pile of items in the driveway. Irby told the deputies, she “…helped him steal all of it,” the release said. That property was seized as evidence when deputies took the two into custody.

Both Elliott and Irby are charged with felony residential burglary and felony criminal mischief as well as misdemeanor theft.

In addition, Elliott has been charged with third-degree domestic battery and public intoxication.

Irby was additionally charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental operations.

Both are to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on Dec. 23 and then district court on Jan. 7, 2021.

Elliott has been placed on a $20,000 professional bond and Irby on a $5,000 bond.
