Richard Thomas Ring, aka Pete Ring, of Cave City, Arkansas, passed away Jan. 8, 2021 at age 75.

He was born July 31, 1945, in Batesville, Arkansas to Jeff and Irene Beatrice (Staley) Ring.

Pete’s passion was in living for the Lord and the Lord gifted him in the area of serving others. He was always thinking of what he could do to help others. All along his mail route he made good friends and would always look for ways to do something extra if he saw a need or just to encourage someone.

You could often find him driving someone to doctor appointments, picking up mail, or running errands for people. For those that had surgery, lost a loved one, was widowed, or were going through hard times of some kind, he would call, write, and/or visit. He spent many hours over the years visiting people in nursing homes.

When he wasn’t helping someone else move something, fix something or build something, you could find him at the school or at the park picking up garbage.

Pete loved to make people laugh and had a special way with children, always being so silly just to get a good laugh. This was another gift from the Lord. He loved to laugh and joke and retell stories and good memories with people.

He loved his church family and was a member of the Harrison Street Church of Christ. He often served in church and he loved to share the Lord with others. He did so in the last week of his life, encouraging the nurses, and praying for and with them in a moment when it was needed most.

He was a United States Army veteran.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff and Irene Ring, brothers Jesse and JD Ring, sister Geraldine Ring, and daughter Shanda Shreve.

He is survived by his children, Mandy Treadway, Kari Ring, and Lucas Ring, siblings Bobby Ring, Sharon Ring, and beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was survived and preceded in death by many others who were precious and like family to him and we thank you for these special, deep friendships that brought him so much joy and did so much for him in return.
